The Floss Latino bit was very long, but didn’t stop being funny at all. Most extended bits usually run out very fast. It was a great episode.
Like many, I too fell out of Chapo due to the same valid criticisms like many of you did.
That being said, Chapo really was a rallying cry to sort of unify the left in ways that never really existed in a cohesive way from 2016-2018/2019.
Don’t know about you, but I think I was overly invested in the pod to be an easy solution to solving a lot of these problems, which sounds ridiculous to type out, but there weren’t a lot of lifeboats to cling to.
The second DNC sabatoge of Bernie in the primaries sort of threw anything leftist into chaos, along with the last gasps of the 2020 social movements effectively being quashed by extreme and targeted policing.
Absolutely nothing was learned from the whole opportunity covid presented by the general population. And yeah I’ve been turned on to këwler pods like :citations-needed: and :brace-cowboy:
But there’s still some beacon of hope flickering in the old Trap House. It’s always been and always will, and have to give them some credit for still trying to make a difference
This was one of their best episodes in a while. Floss Latino is one of those genius Felix bits.
Hot couch guy made me laugh so hard I cried because I realized I was a hot couch guy in college. I even had the office chair with the torn off arm rests that were being held on via duct tape that’s just sitting in the living room so we can all fit together and play rocket league
I think in an early ep. there’s a reference to him going to LA to try stand up and it not working out.
I’m sure this episode is good, but thinking about the podcast has reminded me of the only episode I listened to post-Super Tuesday, which was one with Matt, Felix, and Will just talking about guys they follow on Twitter. And it was a bit like being a kid again, and being bored out of my skull listening to adults talk about other adults I don’t know, except instead of adults talking about other reasonable adults it was three weirdo Twitter goons talking about other weirdo Twitter goons.
They definitely hit a deep rut after bernie burnt out, but since the Afghanistan episode they’ve gotten some of their old fire back
Felix: Isn’t this Dan Harmon’s fault? Rick and Morty, the biggest animation show in the world, made it so that every stupid guy knows what string theory is, and now it’s this—facebook is the metaverse.
