I love my current job, itโs unionized, we get weekly pay, the managers are some of the kindest people Iโve ever had the pleasure to meet, let alone work alongside of, I get plenty of breaks and reading time when Iโm not busy, I get Saturdays off and additional Sunday pay. But two things suck, the coworkers and the pay. One of my coworkers is an old Lib that was very Pro Ireland and we talked for a bit but heโs TERRIFIED of Soviets, like heโs literally spooked by me bc I wear a USSR jacket and Ushankas in winter. I also had a coworker that claimed to be Jesus. Yep, they thought they were the Son of God sent down to redeem humanityโs sinners. He also claimed to have been in the military, a few cults and a few mafias and eventually got fired for calling a young black coworker the Hard-R N-slur, so he was a piece of work. You could never trust what he says and would love to cockblock people. Very odd guy, tough to feel sorry for him but I kinda do, heโs obviously not all there. With all that craziness out of the way, Iโm interviewing for a new position that makes like 2-3x as much as my current job and a lot more professional than a grocery. Technically the title of this post is a TINY bit misleading because I already did the interview early this morning. I had to look up stuff about the company and slob a whole bunch of corporate knob to make me seem interested in the job without sounding desperate. If it went well I go on to Interview #2 in-person, if THAT goes well, I get the job. Hopefully I never have to see that crazy wannabe Jesus dude again.
Lmao, remember to lie a lot and shoot high.
Lol I lied so much, Irl i went from cashier to outside cart pusher because i wanted more breaks, i told them the opposite, that I โworked my way upโ to cashiering and how I commanded a team when tbh all I did was let people know ahead of time when I would go on break. Technically Iโm commanding a team to acknowledge when I will take my break๐คทโโ๏ธwho knows worst they can do is say no and not hire me, if I get hired I can learn
Thank you so much, I actually got the job earlier today and I canโt thank comrades like yโall enough for the well-wishes!๐๐
It can be frustrating moving from a job you like to a job youโll probably enjoy less for more pay, but sometimes thatโs the decision we have to make for ourselves. Good luck!
Definitely! I loved being in a Union, having a local number and pin to wear, Iโll never forget my time there and the many benefits I was afforded, but end of the day, I need more money. Itโs a sad reality but Iโm glad to move on. Itโs an office job, so itโs a good step-up from working at a grocery and it looks more professional on a rรฉsumรฉ. I thank all of the comrades that wished me luck and gave me the confidence to bullshit properly in both interviews lmao
Good luck comrade, update us if you pass to the second interview and eventually if you get the job. You got this!
Second interview was an hr ago, I did pretty well and cracked some jokes and made good convo, apparently thereโs a 3rd interview smh so hopefully I jump through that last hoop and get it
AWESOME NEWS!! They bypassed the 3rd interview and I got the job!!! I start in like less than 2 weeks! Iโm excited now but as an ML, I fully recognize that I will find faults in the job and eventually hate it. For now Iโm just vibing happy af that I got a better paying job. Iโd like to think all the comrades in the comments made a difference๐๐ฅน๐ฅฒ
Good luck ๐๐๐
