Matrix desperately needs to literally just relaunch itself with even a modicum of thought for user experience and API quality. Right now it’s so amateurish in both aspects that it’s damn near impossible to get anyone I know to use it.

discord does practically nothing against its already massive scamming problem, this is gonna add a fuck ton of gasoline on top of it
I had a friend who lost their discord account after their info got leaked on twitch. Hacker made a bunch of fraudulent charges. My friend had to wait weeks to get his account back.
Discord wouldn’t remove the charges from his CC, so my friend called his bank to get the charges removed. Discord banned his account in response.

for like a solid 2 months I would get constant messages from scammers tryna get my tf2 items, doing the same tactic over and over. every time I contacted discord support they straight up would say, “sorry we cant do anything.” the company does not give a fuck about scammers at all.
Matrix spaces are getting pretty solid. They really just need support for custom emotes and they’d be a decent drop-in replacement
