Six weeks to find out how important the cyclists he ran over were. The teen was the son of local hotshots and the cops did NOT want him charged.

Gotta weigh the options here. :cap-think:

Edit - The system is working exactly as intended.

The announcement comes more than a month after the initial collision. An eye witness who claims to have seen the truck hit the group of cyclists said the teen stopped his vehicle after hitting the riders and wondered aloud “Do you think I’m going to jail?”

Let’s find out…

Earlier today the juvenile voluntarily surrendered himself, and was detained by representatives from the juvenile justice department where he will be held in custody until further orders of the juvenile court.

I’ve been waiting for this one.

All this kid had to do was be a normal Chud and just scream at bikers while passing them. Instead he ran over a crowd of them.

Hope the little bastard rots.

It’s also the same police department that suicided Sandra Bland after arresting her for a DWB. And the same county that’s been intentionally disenfranchising black voters for literally every election for at least half a century. Cool place.

They did let him leave the scene, I think we found out a little later that he is in some way related to a cop or sheriff in the area (IIRC)

In a Facebook post Thursday, Llewellyn took exception with Mathis’ suggestion of “criminal interference.” The chief defended himself personally and claimed officers were not influenced by the prominence of the driver’s family, which own several businesses in and around the community, and which is directly connected with some of Waller’s top officials on social media. ^
