These huge stack of books and note papers feel nice and traditional, but are also starting to be a pain to transport. Any of y’all use tech at the table to cut back on the clutter or keep things better organized?

I’m currently looking at a cheap, refurbished Chromebook. I know, I know, libtech, but it’s cheap. I’m willing to hear better alternatives and be talked out of my bad decisions.

I kept a laptop alongside my DM screen; I’d use it for reference guides, kept a spreadsheet with notes for initiative, any source books I didn’t have a physical copy etc. It was extremely helpful, especially as I detest doing math in my head.

I always use a cheap laptop for easy access to searchable pdfs, my campaign notes which are usually .rtfs, and notetaking in notepad.

When I host with paper, I keep like to print out my notes and then then make index sized monster cards for monster stats. I just would resize the stat blocks in Photoshop from the book and print them out.

If I’m hosting on a table with a PC, I like to have everything on in Google docs and put hyper links to everything I need. Keeping monsters stat in tabs on chrome is a simple way to keep things organized and then you can close it when the monster is dead.

I usually also have a dedicated notes page and initiative/combat tracker in paper, even if I’m using a computer.

I also tend to write the encounters in chunks in the order I expect the players to visit them, and try to not work too much of have a pile of world building notes that probably won’t come up.
