It was glorious. I almost regret playing a rather quick (60h) evil playthrough. Missed a bunch of stuff but that gives me an excuse to play it again in a couple of years after its super polished and has a ton of mods.
Frankly, I might cut my playthrough short as well; too many games nowadays.
Baldurs Gate is one of the rare games where a 100h game time can feel earned. Stuff like Assassins creed just got so much bloat and busywork which can be nice for a while but after like 30-40h im usually kind of fed up with most AAA games.

Shadowheart feels like the default straight option, as her and Wyll are the only ones that don’t seem to want you dead and are nice from the beginning
I’m on break from playing after finishing Act 2 but pretty much always had Lae’zel and Shadowheart in the party, lots of character development for both, got used to them. For the third character I had Astarion in the beginning and then Minthara later. I didn’t go the ‘full evil’ route to get Minthara but it still cut off some quests early as a result.
Am I the only one who didn’t like all that stuff? It felt so forced and uncomfortable to me. We’re all covered in goblin viscera from our last battle and these guys all want to bang? It gross, no thanks, I just want to be friends guys, you’re all cool people, but the sex stuff is a bit much.
Personally if there is ever a time to bang its before going into almost certain death …thats just me though. Die with no regrets and all that.
I guess we’re just very different people. Last thing I’d want is to bang someone right before I’m in a life or death situation with them. What if it’s really awkward? I’d hate for someone’s last contact with me to be weird and awkward, and not in a good way.
There is a chance it might be the worst sex of your life. There is also a chance it’s going to be amazing—or just alright. I would rather give it a shot if I have the opportunity. If it turns out terrible, I’m going to be too busy during the upcoming fight to really care. Plus, if it’s really that bad, at least you’ve got a fun story if you survive.
I’m usually a cautious and reserved person, but if we’re talking about high risk (potentially leading to death), I say party hard while you have the chance.
Dont misunderstand me I have 0 problem with you not liking the horniness of Baldurs Gate. Im just stating that if I was put in a terrible situation/with possile death I would try to unwind as much as possible in my off time and do things I would not do under normal circumstances. Consequences be damned. Basically live as if you already are dead. Like you can bet I would take any drug under the sun and would be drunk most of the time if I had to fight in a war…just to cope. (Which is why I wouldnt make a good soldier I assume)
