Update to my earlier post about our injured owl friend. I called the bird hospital today and he is recovering. He had a lot of subcutaneous air in his face, but he is healing nicely. Unfortunately he is permanently blind in his right eye now, but he is staying in their flight cage while they monitor his flight and eating habits. If he seems able to hold his own around the other birds they plan on releasing him back into the wild
