Haven’t seen this meme format in years
Nah, it just means some guy made the wrong choice in arbitrarily labeling a couple things positive and negative, and now we just go with it instead of fixing it.
“I’ve invented 2D numbers”

“Well I’ll keep positive and negative to start”
“Makes sense. And the two new ones?”
“Positive fake and negative fake”

Descartes is the guy who originally called it an “imaginary number”, he meant it as an insult becuase he thought it was a fake branch of math based on fundamentally wrong assumptions.
