It’s certainly an interesting trend that is, imo, massively important but one that’s happening so slowly under our feet we really aren’t paying attention to it. It used to be that there was no moderation on the internet and you could watch cartel beheading videos as easily as you could cute puppy compilations. Tech giants have tried to stay out of that lane for a long time only policing things like nudity and violence, but recently there’ve been more and more calls for them to step in and police along political lines or to stop disinformation. Libs feel fine with it because they’re used to pleading to institutional power to make bad thing go away but clearly the real end result will be the wiping away of leftism from the web rather than anything except the blood lustinginest of chuds

Losing liveleak.com was a big blow. You could watch the news days or weeks before it got reported. Al-Qaeda in Syria was posting videos of them firing Javelin missiles which they only could do if the US was officially supplying them. USA supporting Al-Qaeda, yup, that happened.

What’s this mean, if a video goes viral you can’t view it without subscribing?

Maybe I’m too paranoid but I tend to think every podcast you mentioned is an op/useful idiots (what’s the difference) to some degree. The whole “twitter personality” to podcaster thing is so ripe for psyops due to its “normal guy, just like you (wink)” format.

But yeah, the dumpster fire that is the US left have cheered a lot of this censorship on. It will bite them in the ass.

Probably true. But looking back at history the CIA and feds have deeeply infiltrated leftish groups and media. It’s easier for them to do now than ever and the goals are pretty straightforward.

Anyway, still holding onto my pet theory that matt christman got recruited at the university of wisconsin lol

The irony being that they were staunch advocates of free speech as recently as 2014. I can still dig up the posts where they proudly state that any censor is a fascist and a coward who can’t marshal logical arguments.

Of course, this is when the left wasn’t in a position to censor anyone. Now that it’s been normalized, Pandora’s box has been opened and it’s far too late to do anything. If it’s a comfort, consider that the right is getting hit harder than anyone. When Rogan falls soon, as he must, then the Whos down in Whoville will all cry boo-hoo. And that’s a noise that we all simply must hear.

Yeah it’s been wild to watch. Especially having hoped that something positive would maybe come out of the Bernie uhh “movement”. But it all got absorbed into the Dem machine in the worst way possible. The left has basically been coopted and twisted by big tech at this point. They are seen as “on our side” to some extent.

The free internet died in 2010. All of this now is just a mass mind control tool pitting two sides against each other.
