Moore doesn’t get enough credit imo. I genuinely feel that he walked so that alot of people today could run.
I’ll always admire him for publicly speaking out against the invasion of Iraq when this country was at it’s most bloodthirsty and that was a HUGE no-no.
He got an immense amount of shit for it at the time, but stood his ground.
Solid, unapologetic, anti-imperialism is honestly the gold standard for citizens in the imperial core.
I’ll take one liberal pacifist over a hundred socialists who toe the imperial line.

On the other hand, it’s pretty easy to get someone who’s already signed up for socialism to come around on imperialism. There’s a wealth of socialist literature on anti-imperialism, and the factual record of U.S. foreign policy is so horrific that it speaks for itself (so long as you can get people to look at it).
The response to socialists who have shitty takes on imperialism should be about 90% education and 10% bullying, if that.

Trotskyists have entered the room
for his iraq war emmy (or oscars? idk the difference) stunt alone, he good
Without a hint of irony that was brave. IIRC you can see Scorsese was about to start coping clapping for him but the camera cut away.
Wait hold on is Scorsese cool? He’s possibly my favorite director, please be cool.
Just looked it up: Emmy is TV, Oscar is movie, Tony is theatre, Grammy is music

braver than all the troops. pretty sure he did this on the same week the war started too
He’s a lib but his documentaries (in particular Sicko) are what started pushing me to the left from libertarianism
Idk why when Michael Moore says this shit it comes across as so sincere, but when Cenk says the exact same thing it makes him look like a fucking op.
Either way, Moore has long been a voice of moral clarity, especially during a time when the left was incredibly isolated.
especially during a time when the left was incredibly isolated.
It’s hard to overemphasize how deeply Moore was hated by everyone other than the virtually non-existent left in the 90s.
it makes him look like a fucking op.
do you know tyt? you heard of tyt? hey do you know tyt i promise im not a cop
I think the harshest criticism one could level at Moore is that he’s naive (electorialism, Vote Blue, Michele Obama for Prez, etc.), but at his core, he’s always been eager, genuine, and fighting on behalf of others. He’s golden in my book.
