yeah saw that thread. like i do know there is a tendency in immigrant communities (mine included) to recommend either marrying someone local or stay inside the community. like i got some shit for dating my bf who doesnt speak czech, but ive also got commendations for ‘integrating’. a generalization here is unhelpful because theres a 50/50 tug on both sides it seems to me at least in the czech immigrant community and they always say it in very harsh and certain terms
idk it strikes me as a bit weird because I remember similar Discourse popping up from weirdos on twitter about Luna and EJ

True, although I have noticed that even in higher socioeconomic groups, the ratio still seems skewed in favor of white guy asian girl couples rather than the other way around.
There’s probably a lot of reasons it could be. The west is great at propaganda after all. Maybe they bought into the idea that the West is the amazing progressive place that lets you be free.
