It’s going to be amazing when libs start denying the next Covid wave is happening. Hospitals will be failing but barely reported on, and the statistics will be cooked so they’ll have an “objective” fact to point at. Believe. The. Science. Covid is over. You will be viewed as a conspiracy theorist if you suggest that the next wave is killing and disabling people.
Meanwhile Trump will run on both Biden “forcing everyone to wear a mask and lock down”, and Biden “killing many, many more people, despite having the vaccines I made”.
We will look back on this time as yet another, simpler, happier time on the path to a much darker future. :joker-gaming:

I was thinking about this on the toilet the other day - we really don’t give a shit about the disabled/immunocompromised here huh. I can’t imagine what those folks have been through the past few months (or years I guess). People ignore their issues in the best of times - now we’re going out of our way to fuck them for jalapeño poppers.
I made a friend last semester. Never got a read on his politics - seems like a typical young lib at least - but the dude won’t hear anything against the vaccines. Turns out his partner, who lives with him, is immunocompromised. Both working in shitty restaurant jobs. I can definitely hear the frustration in his voice when he talks about the whole situation and it doesn’t sound like they really go out for anything else. Depressing bullshit.
I think about one of my old professors too. Disabled. I found their twitter some time ago (I’m a fucking weirdo!) and every other tweet was about disabled people getting fucked over. Went private months before the pandemic. I know they’re healthy, but I hope they’re doing ok - must be a fucking nightmare. Oh I think they started teaching a class in person a while back - can’t really teach life drawing online. If we drop masks here I don’t know what they’re going to do.

Glad they’ve at least got each other. I can only imagine the nightmare of living alone over the last few years. I can’t imagine what my own mental health would be like after a month, much less twenty.
