Portal’s writing is always what I hold up as video game comedy done well. Plenty of adventure titles (both modern and classic) that have strong witty punchlines, which I respect, and I think Portal brought that sort of comedy to a more “mainstream” audience. I think it should a lot of people that the interactive medium is a rich place to explore things like comedy.

Both Portal games are so good

I’m always struck by how perfectly GlaDOS’ voice strikes the balance between human and robot. It sounds cold and detached but there’s always this hint of warmth underneath. I love Portal 🥺

Amazing that nothing gets cooked in Aperture. At 5km-ish deep, it would be some 75 degrees C
