This is a peer group of trans and nb sex workers. This isn’t “Germany”.

There are going to be some sex workers showing up as part of the refugee crisis and they’ll need resources so they don’t wind up in an even more vulnerable situation.

There isn’t anything in here about recruiting people into sex workers, that’s the kind of “sex industry expansionist” framing SWERFs use to push for more criminalization, silencing of sex workers, and state violence against marginalized groups.

Using the phrasing of “grooming” to describe trans and nb sex workers supporting other sex workers is also TERF language. Good example of SWERF and TERF as a common combo.

You want to know why some of the only voices that come forward to speak for sex workers are more privileged? It’s because those with less privilege are at even greater risk of being murdered, assaulted, and/or incarcerated because of bullshit like this.

OP either lacks reading comprehension, is intentionally misrepresenting this, or both.

Edit: Two day old account, so either a troll or a newbie who hasn’t worked through some brainworms.

I’d guess that a good portion of their audience would already be sex workers, and I could imagine many trans or nonbinary sex workers would not want to return to Ukraine when the war’s over. At first glance this seems a little weird outside of that context.

That’s exactly what this. Framing trans and nb sex workers as somehow “recruiting” or “grooming” is both TERF and SWERF rhetoric.

Taken at face value… this is good. Current Sex worker refugees can learn how to continue sex work in Germany safely. Obviously brothels still exploit but… it’s an improvement over other options for them.

yeah, i’d be extremely sceptical of that. There’s a lot of highly exploitative actors in Germany’s sex industry, they frequently resort to manipulation of vulnerable groups and trick them into coercive, slavery-like working conditions. Newly arriving refugees who can easily be misled about their legal situation and protections here are often easy targets for that kind of approach, and this goes doubly for groups who are vulnerable in more than one way, such as the Ukrainian trans sex workers explicitly mentioned here. Stuff like taking away and withholding legal documents and using the threat of deportation are common practices among pimps. so yeah, that add raises a ton of red flags.

also note that fetishization of Eastern European women in general and Ukrainian women in particular is massive in Germany. searches for Ukrainians on porn sites from German IP adresses skyrocketed almost immediately when the war began, and refugee aid orgs have had to put policies in place against creeps offering to take in refugees only as long as they’re single women.

Edit: Somebody provided further links and this could actually be a peer-to-peer network of trans, inter and NB sex workers instead of a grooming approach. i’m not familiar with the org, but they work with other orgs who actually consist of active or former sex workers, so i may be overly cautious here.

This is apparently a peer group of sex workers providing resources to other workers, not the German government. So yeah, I don’t see how this is a bad thing.
