Can you imagine coming from a country that only about 70 years ago, in the span of 3 years had 20% of your population wiped out and all the infrastructure reduced to rubble? Everyone lost someone. And then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, the offending nation places troops on your borders and engages in military drills, and places sanctions on your crumbled nation, starving your people to death and trying to prevent the country from being rebuilt, and saying of you that you’re brainwashed sheep and in need of their salvation and that the sanctions are for your sake. Oh, also the offending nation during the war dropped bubonic plague infected fleas on you.
Good for these people, and I honestly wish them all the success in the world.

im sure its a good feeling of sense of security, being perpetually at war for the entire country’s existence and having 15% of the population killed off from invasion probably isnt good on the psyche so people are letting out a huge longwinded sigh of relief over having some serious defensive power. obviously a lot of people interviewed here are directors of various departments or coached people, but the enthusiasm does seem pretty real for some
