The comfort and amenities of First Class aren’t cringe, just the part where the other classes exist and are defined by what they don’t have relative to First Class.

I don’t think it’s supposed to be for a single passenger. It’s presumably a common area. If not it should be.
I think there is some benefit to being able to make choices. Would you like a cheaper trip, or a more luxurious trip? The issue is that for many they can only afford 2nd or 3rd class. Under socialism, we would be free to make choices that we aren’t able to make under capitalism.
I wish India actually starts giving a fuck about hsr. I’m way too pissed that I have to fly or spend a 10+ hrs whenever I want to go somewhere moderately distant.
