basically every MMORPG since like Ultima Online, Asheron’s Call, Dark Age of Camelot.
It’s impressive how much the genre got so fucked. even just the most basic and rudimentary shit: the fucking idiots at Blizzard couldn’t realize you need 3 factions in an MMO or else world pvp is fucked and pointless. Trion, to their credit, realized their mistake with Rift and patched a third faction in later on. Blizzard?
the one caveat is planetside2. they knew all they needed to do was remake PS1 with updated graphics. they absofuckinglutely nailed it. ESO as well is generally cool and good, although there needs to be way more taming, resource gathering, open world activities etc. a la UO.
Asheron’s Call
My absolute favorite MMORPG ever. The worldbuilding is so unique and cool, I still to this day have never seen anything like it. Dereth is a legit cool world. Even the post-apocalyptic Asheron’s Call 2 had this otherwordly feeling to it.
I steal so much from that game when it comes to D&D and my own personal writing. Nobody knows about that shit these days so I get to look cool when I present my own twists on the lore.
Caddyshack 2 has to be one of the worst movies ever made. To go from the original to that pile of shit is almost impressive.
I remember how much i loved the Justice League as a kid, and then when Unlimited came out, it just added too many characters and made everything seem too large. and the episodes would only ever have 1-3 of the original league present at anytime, meaning the social dynamics were too small within scenes i.e. no flash comic relief, martian man hunter straight man contrasts.
Doesnt help either that the DC live action movies are just dogshit either, but I miss those versions of those characters and would actually like to see the plots from that series translated into a movie.
That dunkaroo cereal was disappointing imo.
