My immediate thought is that this is to enable them to funnel more arms to Taiwan. Not sure how much it’ll help since Chinese intelligence almost certainly has a way of finding out.
Similar to the deletion of records from the NED website, I have a feeling this is more about preventing us regular people from finding out about it than other governments.
They want to cover up their foreign policy tracks so we can’t point to the overwhelming evidence of evil shit they get up to and show people how there is no democracy when it comes to foreign policy, only Empire.
Couldn’t you just take the total budget, and subtract all the non-military stuff from it, and get an answer?
