Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins
Defense Politics Asia’s youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)
Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Last week’s discussion post.
Man, I wake up, take a shower, chill for half an hour, and then I look at telegram and have like 500 notifications and was like “Well, shit. Putin really did it, didn’t he.”
Igor Girkin aka Strelkov:
“Numerous attacks on critical infrastructure of the so-called “Ukraine” will definitely have an effect and will affect the state of the front and the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a whole. But the effect will be by no means instantaneous and will begin to affect not earlier than in a few weeks (and then only on the condition that the strikes continue and systematically knock out the surviving objects). And now the enemy, on the contrary, will be forced, on the contrary, to hurry with offensive operations - as long as his rear infrastructure remains capable. I continue to predict the enemy’s attempts to carry out 1-2 large-scale offensive operations by the end of October. Now every day without an enemy offensive is “working for us,” since the flow of mobilized people arriving at the front is growing every day, and the time remaining before the preparation and commissioning of urgently formed reserves is shortening. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also understands all this very well.” - Strelkov’s telegram channel
Strelkov’s telegram is reporting that the right bank will not be given up and that 100k troops have already been delivered to it after 7 days of training.
I was just thinking about how this all started - Yanukovych rejecting the EU-UA Association agreement. Now, 8 years later, Ukraine has sustained a great deal of damage, the EU likely going to collapse, NATO has been shown to be, largely, a paper tiger.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry claims that Russian missiles violated the country’s airspace. “Three cruise missiles fired from Russian warships in the Black Sea passed through the territory of our country in the area of the village of Kolbasna (unrecognized Transnistria) and the city of Soroca. Violation of our national airspace is completely unacceptable,” according to a message in the telegram channel of the ministry
