The Juggalos have evolved into a really fascinating subculture. I keep thinking about this idea I have for a story in a post-collapse America where the Juggalos are one of the largest de facto anarchist mutual aid networks on the continent, and people join up with no connection to or interest in the music. They just like having shelter during lethal heat exposure advisory days, and enjoy giving a half-hour on one of the generator bikes for a bowl of stew
Juggalos are an ingroup. You put that clown sticker on your car, and everyone in the ingroup knows who you are. They’ll go out of your way to help you. That goes for pretty much any ingroup, honestly.
Of course, to the US government, they’re a threatening gang.

Juggalos are probably one of the most interesting groups of people in the world right now, and also a great contemporary example of solidarity across racial lines.
I don’t really enjoy the music but I gotta say working class comrade Juggalos are pretty cool, true proletariat.
