I just mean he had more audacity back then, not that his opinions were better or that he was a better person. Maher now wouldn’t say something like that because as much as he plays up how he speaks his mind, he self censors a lot. If it wouldn’t lose him viewers and make his job more tenuous, he’d rail on about how vaccines cause autism for every single show. If he was cooler today like he was back then, he would have gotten himself fired and tbh that would be the best thing for him.
