It took a Herculean effort by Bourgeois progressives to get that welfare state up in the first place. Given how thoroughly marginalized they are now, I don’t see a repeat, for better or for worse.

I saw this in the wild today. Someone on twitter posted “It’s so nice we don’t have right wing attacks in Portland anymore”. One of the replies was “Now we have to get rid of Antifa”. “But Antifa is the reason we don’t have fascists anymore” “Yes, but I can’t stand the graffiti and vandalism!”
