See, most of them know something is wrong with the world. They don’t like billionaires, they don’t like racism, and they don’t think the USA is hot shit. They just think that this is all the fault of Trump or something. I love to provide them with context, and help them see that the USA was just as bad before Trump. Just today, I think I made a difference, I think I got a friend to acknowledge that the USA is pretty much always terrible, and that surplus value shouldn’t be stolen, and that was an interesting conversation. I mean, they all agree that trump is bad, so just start there.

It’s surprisingly easy, points worth making are “this isn’t Trump’s America, it’s just America” and point to Biden (rhetorically) and say firmly “we can’t afford to wait 4 years, voting is NOT enough ifnwe want to actually tackle things” if you can develop some credibility mention that “Bernie Sanders really isn’t enough for me tbh, but we can talk about that another time”.

If they’re Warreny politics nerds who aren’t explicitly anti-socialist, show them some Richard Wolff and turn them into good solid DemSocs (and then keep telling them why they’re wrong from there)

You could also ask them if they like their boss.

Very true, though the friend I was talking to today had never had a job. I’m talking about teenagers here.
