Dec. 13 (UPI) – India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday accused China of initiating a conflict on the disputed border between the two countries in the Himalayan Mountain region.
Singh told Indian officials that Chinese People’s Liberation Army troops of crossed the “Line of Actual Control,” the de facto border between China and India in the region on Friday, in the most serious run-in since 2020.
“The Chinese attempt was contested by our troops in a firm and resolute manner,” Singh told Indian officials. “The ensuing face-off led to a physical scuffle in which the Indian army bravely prevented the PLA from transgressing into our territory and compelled them to return to their posts.”
Singh said 20 Indian soldiers were injured in the exchange but no deaths were reported.

Ugh. Would you mind giving me a short summary? I’m afraid of looking it up. Guessing it has to do with the Indo-China border conflict sparking nuclear war and then some epic old gun fetishist just has to be creepy towards a much younger woman whose race is mentioned slightly too frequently?
Why does this keep happening
My first reaction was “Oh fuck fighting between two nuclear powers” but then I read the article and it sounds more like “Two groups of bored soldiers got in a fist fight”
This seems to happen at least once a year. It’s like an ongoing version of the 1859 Pig War. Hopefully it stays like that (or ends).
It’s the same story as how John McAfee murdered that man in Costa Rica. McAfee liked to let his dogs roam free and dig up the neighbors bushes. When the neighbor left poison bait in the bushes and McAfee’s dogs found it and ate it, he flipped out and killed the guy.
