I remember when TLC was public-funded and it stood for The Learning Channel. It mostly featured documentary content pertaining to nature, science, history, current events, medicine, technology, cooking, home improvement, and other information-based topics. It was often agreed to have been more focused, more technical, and of a more academic nature than the content that was being broadcast at the time on its eventual rival, The Discovery Channel.
Then austerity politics sold it to it’s for-profit rival for pennies on the dollar in 1990, and now we have this.

Volcel police, I’m so sorry. But I need to go all out, just this once.
