I went to a bunch of Everclear shows as a teenager and met Art back then. In the last couple of years I went to their So Much for the Afterglow tour and then saw Art when he was going around doing solo shows. He’s really sweet, honestly, but it does feel like he’s kind of done with it. I know I shouldn’t be amazed that he’s just an older guy now who wants to hang out. Like he remembers my friend, who was always more into going to concerts than I was, and she shows him pictures of her kids. His solo show was a lot of him just talking to people who showed up and kind of playing songs. It was more like hanging out with a bunch of like-minded people than seeing a show, and honestly I kind of respect that.
There was this documentary on the France24 recently on the conflict between Che and Fidel. They’re really playing up the Cold War propaganda.
