They’re saying the explosion will produce some kind of very lethal poison gas which was also used as a chemical weapon in WW1. There is an evacuation area declared around the train.

I wonder if this is something that could have been avoided with proper staffing, safety, and not forcing sick people to show up or lose their jobs.

We have trains that derail at less than half that speed which leads to explosions and clouds of poison gas

if it’s like controlled in the sense of “we’re jettisoning this chemical into a creek asap so it doesn’t turn this tank into a toxic pressure bomb” like… “more controlled than exploding” it doesn’t feel that disingenuous to me
