He did it, 100%. It would be perverse to look at the evidence and come to any other conclusion (maybe allowing for his son doing it, I guess).
I really feel like the sociological aspects of the trial are severely under-analyzed. Surprising when you consider how big of a deal the trial was - and really, if you’re too young or not American it’s hard to convey how big it was, there is no modern equivalent. However, it’s not surprising when you consider the sociological analysis basically just boils down to “white Americans are hella racist”.
At the time, white folks were mad about the verdict but they were really, off-the-charts mad about the black community’s general response to the verdict - which was I guess “celebratory”, for lack of a better word. I remember white folks getting so pissed off over seeing black folks cheer. Never mind any social context. Black folks tried to explain up and down that they had been systematically abused by the cops and framed for stuff all the time, but just like with Michael Brown white folks didn’t want to hear it. They just used what they saw as the black community “celebrating a murder” to add jet fuel to their already existing racism.
And regarding the black community’s response to the verdict… fuck Dave Chappelle but I remember him explaining it in an interview pretty well: yeah, everyone knew he was guilty. But it was obvious to every black person in America that the white folks cared waaaaay more about seeing one black man hang than to even acknowledge systematic racism in policing that affects millions of people. So fuck it, why shouldn’t they root for him to get off?/You have people who have been targeted by the pigs for decades. All the racist Mark Furman / LAPD shenanigans coming out into the public eye was almost cathartic; it was now out in the open. This level of racial harassment was the order of the day for black folks in this country. Rodney King and the LA riots were still fresh in everyone’s mind. Policing in America was so obviously racist at the time, but White America wanted to just brush it under the rug. So why the hell should black folks care about seeing OJ get justice when white folks don’t care one bit about black folks getting justice for all the times someone got a bag of coke planted on them? Cheering on OJ was a legitimate form of protest against oppression.
I think that the theory that his son Jason did it seems plausible.
Did OJ do IT?
Depends on what cursed fanfics you can trawl up out of AO3.
Yes, OJ did 9/11
The glove didn’t fit because it was all dried up and crinkled from being kept as evidence for so long. They had him try on new gloves of the same type and they fit fine.
