Posting positions to places like indeed and other job sites is free advertising too. You don’t need to fill those spots or even have them exist.

They also do this to offer shittier jobs to people as a “plan B”.

But all this was going on during the “No one wants to work” propaganda put out by wsj.

Yeah that’s a thing. If you’re suspicious of a listing at your workplace have some colleagues at other places apply for it (or do it yourself, just copy someone’s linkedin profile or something), just to make sure they’re contacting people.
