I’m not so optimistic. They’re going with “both sides are doing genocide,” the US and the UK might just pressure them into dropping the warrants on Netanyahu and Gallant, and push hard only for Hamas.

Which they can then spin into “see? The ICC agrees! Hamas are the real genociders”

They said Hamas used rape as a weapon and they gave harsher prosecutions for Hanyeh, Sinwar and Mohammed Deif, third one is useless because Abu Khaled is a man who we don’t even know how he looks like lmao

Can’t speak for OP, but the community as a whole generally is not against hamas.

However, at this point, anything that ends the conflict, the apartheid, and brings at least some part of the Israeli government to justice is probably worth it.

All I can say is good luck getting either party to comply with a conviction. This is some absolute hot air signalling from the UN, as per usual. You’d think after the IOF had shelled UN affiliated aid workers they would have issued something the next day.

ICC isn’t part of the UN and is considered much more pro-West. The fact that even they are going after a western country shows how much Israel has fallen.

I don’t know, is it the country they’re going after? It looks to me like they’re trying to make this completely Netanyahu’s fault lately, like an ablative mass murder shield to distract from how this is the inevitable result of the entity’s colonial policy.

No but I’ll be happy if Bibi ends up in jail (or dead in a helicopter crash).

Critical support. I think just about everyone would be happier if a secular group like the PFLP or Fatah were leading the resistance in Gaza, but we support the resistance no matter what organization is leading it.

I would not be happy with Fatah anywhere.

obviously they’re surprised that someone is getting upbeats for saying “let’s goooooo” about a post in which hamas and israeli leaders are being treated equally. don’t be hostile for no reason

Not being hostile, I’m just genuinely curious

We do still have quite a few people coming in from other instances who have a medley of views, some of which are quite liberal

No, i support hamas and their armed struggle is the only viable option for the liberation of palestinian people

My sibling in christ, they are both siding the genocide. This clearly designed to do nothing or hurt Hamas.

Or (I hope) it’s the only way they might be able to push it through without US intervention. Or at the very least have the US say no and further damage their image (which tbh the US will likely take the bait at this point).

In a system designed to protect the status quo I don’t think you could do anything other than “both sides” it.

As a side note: I often find myself trying to figure out how to do something in a system that doesn’t exist. Unfortunately we have to be aware of the current material conditions and the way things are rather than how we wish they were. That way we can be better at focusing the efforts of campaigns in which we seek to win power back, and ultimately bring about a just society.

Edit after reading a few comments:

It very well may be just a way for the blame to be placed on an individual.

Seems like the ICC is affirming their loyalty to the US and making it clear they do not wish to be taken seriously by the international community.
I don’t know who process and authorize these applications, but it won’t be a surprise if the only warrants issued are for the resistance leaders.

Coward shit honestly. There should be warrants put out against every official that has publicly made a statement advocating for genocide. Putting out a warrant on just Bibi gives Israel an easy out. Just replace and jail Bibi and the next genocidal ghoul can step in and keep things going.

Legit

You had so many Israeli politicians saying everyone in Gaza is Hamas to justify just killing everyone there; so, many, Israeli politicians, all, saying it
