I can’t ever get mine to hold a style without turning it into a plastic shell with hairspray :ooooooooooooooh:
EDIT: Thank you for all the advice comrades I freakin’ love you guys :cri:
EDIT 2: IT WORKED! I am now the proud owner of a rockin’ pompadour. Fuck yeah!
1st step is to get a good haircut. Honestly that does 90% of the lifting. A good haircut goes where you want it to go, by itself. You shouldn’t have to fight it. If it’s sticking up it’s not long enough. Many barbers / stylists will fuck this up. The instinct when you see something sticking up is to cut it short but actually it needs to grow out. Work with your natural parts, let the hair go where it wants to.
2nd is keep it healthy. I’ve been doing well washing 2x a week with shampoo+conditioner and just conditioner on the other days to keep from getting greasy.
If the hair is healthy and well cut you’re off to a good start.
When you towel dry your hair don’t go crazy rubbing it everywhere. This just creates tangles. Use pressure, and squeeze the water out, but keep it straight.
For actual styling blow dry with nozzle, if you have fine hair a little sea salt spray for texture can help but is not necessary. Light touch here a couple pumps will do. Hair will tend to sit where it dries, blow drying lets you control that.
Once the hair is dry and styled then you can finish with a little pomade for some hold. You only need a little, about a 2cm in diameter dollop, rub it thin between your hands and LIGHTLY apply so as to not crush your volume
That’s my secret: I don’t.
:kitsupogi: Do I pomade my hair while wet and blow dry it in or do I put it in after.
Edit: nevermind the link you gave me has instructions
Lmao I feel like a teen learning to use make-up for the first time again. :data-laughing:
