I have almost entirely eliminated advertisements from my life with script blockers and not engaging with commercial tv/radio/newspapers etc. At this point I’m so desensitized you could just tell me to buy something and I’d probably take in good faith and buy it.

I’ve got the opposite reaction, silencing the noise just made ads stand out even more and become completely repulsive.

I’m more of this persuasion because I carry a bit of skepticism in my pocket wherever I go (it is a negative in my relationships). I had to travel for work recently and the whole process of passive ads in an airport, on rideshare apps, in the hotel, and in the convenience store felt like capitalist hell. It’s like being predated on.

And there’s always just baiting & outraging people for negative attention/misdirection if you are safe from repercussions :3

Any product that advertises itself as sustainable, green or worst of all, ~net carbon zero~. It’s especially bad when it’s something like meat which is horrible for the environment, but because they reduced the amount of plastic packaging it’s good now :capitalist-woke: (not that I’d buy meat anyway because vegan BTW, but you know)

most of them tbh
when i was exposed to way more advertising, the ones that pissed me off the most were ones that tried to sell a lifestyle
ones that have a catchy jingle have the opposite of the intended effect, as if your jingle is stuck in my head, i’ll definitely remember not to buy your fucking soup or whatever
