I mean they don’t even usually allow regular skilled immigrants atm, so thatd be a pretty drastic change. There’s only two countries in the world with less immigrants percentage-wise than China (Madagascar and Cuba). They have an insane amount of temporary migrant workers (200-300 mil), but their borders are almost completely shut for the vast majority of people looking to actually move there, and if that ever changes in the future I doubt they’d allow unskilled people
I think Americans hoping to become expats to the global south as their country continues to go even more fash than usual are in for a rude surprise.

The global south is not going to want expats from the imperial core, especially the most reactionary country in the imperial core that has couped, invaded, and bombed countless nations.

The global south is already experiencing an emigration crisis because of climate change. People are trying to escape the global south and ending up dead in the ocean because the reactionary racist coast guards of the imperial core love to kill refugees with so called “pushback attacks.”
