Playing Chained Echoes right now, it’s pretty fun and feels a lot like Chrono Trigger. Definitely recommend for anybody who likes old school JRPGs.
Sifu was another fun game I played recently, really good fighting mechanics that feel very fluid and look cinematic.
Afterparty was a fun story based game I can recommend for people looking for something casual.
I find I tend to like indie games nowadays because they tend to be shorter and mechanics are simpler, so you can just pick it up and play it for a bit without having to really get into it.
My fav genres are roguelike and story based games, in particular I really liked pretty much everything Telltale games made. I find they always have excellent writing in their games.
I used to play a lot of FPS and RTS games, but last RTS I played was SC2, and for FPS it was Titanfall 2 which was a ton of fun.
Does Sifu have much of a story? It’s one I’ve had some interest in but don’t know much about it
Not much of a story in it, it’s mostly just the innovative fighting system that carries.
Gotcha. I still probably will give it a try but have been interested in it because Sleeping Dogs is one of my favorite games
Kinda bouncing around a few games right now, mostly though I picked RimWorld back up, been having fun with that, as well as getting back in to pushing m+ in wow, which I always enjoy
Been playing Grounded with some friends. It’s pretty fun but like all survival sandbox games it’s a huge time sink. Wish it had availability for more than 4 players but then we often only have 2 of us on at any one time.
Grounded was a sleeper hit, no question. Much better than anyone anticipated and the initial reviews weren’t that great. But damn, it’s been getting steadily more popular over time.
My only major complaint is it seems like the go into excessive detail for certain survival aspects of the game for realism but none of the actual bugs you fight make any sense. Like spiders living in packs and ORB WEAVERs walking around and attacking on the ground etc. I also feel the combat difficulty vs material progression is way unbalanced. Killing the stuff you need for better weapons and armor feels like a pretty monumental task if you aren’t cheesing it.
