Imagine not wanting to strike for climate action, for a human response to COVID-19, or for racial justice.
No, the really important thing is the GOP hypocrisy.
If this would actually get the libs in the streets rioting, I’d fucking take it. But it won’t because they’re libs
Problem is, liberals think declaring a general strike is a novel idea, as if the left hasn’t been working towards that goal for decades - often times facing setbacks when unions are shattered by none other than the liberals.
As much as it is tempting to rip liberals up in a thread like this, these threads are a good opportunity to agitate. Outline how the entire left project revolves around building the organizing capacity to perform a general strike like this. Tell the liberals that the left has put A LOT of though and practice into this problem. Set them on the right path. Tell them straight up, “This isn’t going to work. At least, not like this. Something like this requires a lot of groundwork, and here are the people who are leading the way.”
their idea of a general strike is walking along a designated walk path holding signs with quipy harry potter references, with police “escorting” them the entire time.

No, a general strike is when you postpone your Amazon purchase for 12 hours.
The radical action of the general strike is and soon will be consumed by liberal opportunists who will take the revolutionary energy that such an action would’ve generated and rechannel it back into Capital as another form of commodification of counterculture.
The GOP have been hypocrites since… forever. They operate at cartoonish levels of naked hypocrisy. They have never operated in good faith. John McCain was a two-faced asshole narcissist. None of them are redeemable.
Mass sterilization: I sleep. Republicans sort of like a bit: Real Shit!
Hey whatever it takes.
I mean, they aren’t actually going to do it.
Maybe they’ll get a 16 minute general strike out of it.
Oh, I just thought of a perfectly terrible one. 87 second general strike in remembrance of her 87 years.
