Fellow posters, I’m lucky enough to have some money and also some books I want to read. In the past, I’ve bought books on Amazon, but I don’t really feel good about doing that. I live in the rural American north, and dont have a lot of nearby bookstores. Plus IDK if I want to do lots of shopping during a pandemic.

Does anyone have any preferred/ethical ways to buy books online?

Sure, sure, piracy is good, but I really don’t like ebooks.

https://www.betterworldbooks.com/ for used books. Their prices are good and buying used is a lot less wasteful. They also donate books to nonprofits.

bookshop.org received a heap of press last this year for being like amazon-killer for local bookstores. They seem pretty good and have similar prices/delivery to amazon

Funny that Amazon is supposed to be a book store.

Idk I love my Kindle + calibre & Library genesis for sourcing material. Feels good hiding behind TOR & grabbing piles of reading material with some hope of not getting murdered by the thought police in 10 years
