As I’ve said in the title, the ECHR is hugely important, from the right to an education to the right to vote, human rights protect a large variety of aspects of our lives. The idea that we could lose these rights due to “boat people”, is terrifying. We need to start talking about how valuable these rights are, and start educating friends and neighbours.

It’s the reason I voted against Brexit. These fucks have been after my rights from the get go. I remember Theresa May talking about how shit the ECHR was back before she was PM. I’m a Human and like having rights, fuck off trying to take that off me.

Same. A Tory Brexit was never going to be a good Brexit.

It’s just so comically evil that a political party would be against Human Rights… at least it would be comical if there wasn’t a real chance that the tories could actually scrap it and that there are voters who have been tricked into agreeing with them.

The chance is very low, the Good Friday Agreement depends on the ECHR but after Brexit we know what level of destruction the Tories are willing to do to this country in order to cling on to power

This doesn’t feel like a very “casual” conversation.

It probably isn’t, but I started here due to the more casual attitude.
