It’s not a delusional take on Hillary’s part, it’s something written by a political consultant.
The democratic strategy is that they always try to make sure they look as if there’s room for Republicans and especially Republican donors to switch parties.
There’s just a belief in this world that coming off as sympathetic to Trump makes the Dems look like a more serious organization.
It’s a big club etc. etc.
She has it out for Sanders because when you combine the green party vote and write in vote in most marginal states, it’s more than double the amount she lost by.
This however was totally her fault as the wikileaks October surprise was never even close to properly addressed by her campaign.
I fucking hate her so god damn much.
