Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t rest in power reserved for people who have been failed in someway by the system ala police murder victims, dead revolutionarys, etc? Like saying rest in power to RBG is like super cheap and wrong right?
Rest in power is generally for people who either dedicated themselves to struggling against systems of oppression, or died at the hands of oppressors. The idea being that their legacy and memory can continue to have an impact in bringing about liberation.
So yeah, using it for RBG is cheap and cringey.
