If you have questions or ideas or suggestions for changes, now would be a great time for them!

I’m sorry If my posts about TPP are bugging anyone, I know I’ve been posting about it a lot, but it’ll be worth it I promise. The next thing I post about The People’s Podcast will be the official upload of Episode 1 o7

Please upvote the thing and leave a comment. No matter how hard I post folks won’t know about it if they never see the posts.

Tell me what you’d be excited to see, dunk on this for being such a bougie project, get into arguments about whether the podcast that doesn’t have any published episodes was ever good or if it’s really always been bad except for virgil, go nuts. I’ll be forever grateful :chavez-salute:

But what is the people’s Podcast?

The People’s Podcast is the Official podcast of the Chapo community, not like how CTH was, but instead a direct and inseverable connection between the community and the podcast, because this podcast is the community. The Podcast could be viewed as a way for the community to express itself, to start and carry out difficult conversations, such as addressing ableism, and as a method for strengthening our comrades and our community through solidarity and learning safe praxis. It’s whatever this community wants it to be, but only if you come tell us what that is and help to build it!

Here’s How it works:

Topics are brought by user suggestion or through brainstorming meetings, and episodes will be self organized by whatever folks are passionate about that subject (with assistance from the behind the scenes team), there’s no top down structure for deciding who gets to speak, if you have something valuable to say we’ll make sure you’re heard. After that, a recording time is chosen, and those who plan to speak prepare themselves however they see fit, while we spread the word and recruit people for the anarchy segment.

There’s 2 parts to the podcast:

1.) The Traditional segment- with a smaller core group of prepared (to whatever extent those hosting want/decide to be prepared) hosts who, over the course of about an hour, introduce the topic and significant context, and through organic discussions with their hosts elucidate the topic for the rest of the audience, who is listening live the whole time, only they’re muted.

2.) The Anarchy segment- where everyone who was listening live gets unmuted and the whole thing becomes a broad public forum: about the episode, further discussion, dumb bits, whatever. Inspired by the old episode discussion megathreads, but instead of being after the fact reactions they’re an integral component to the podcast itself. This section will be recorded over 2-3 hours and edited down to about 45 minutes - an hour and a half to remove umms and ahhhs and instances where people talk over each other.

this was great, thanks for taking the time to put it all together
