Liberal arts, along with being incredibly necessary for many parts of a functioning society like sociology (right?) and architecture, also grant us the vision to turn gray blobs of laboratories and actuarial super computers into a place worth sticking around for. If you walked around seeing nothing but people in gray uniforms, no make up, no hats, no murals on the walls, no statues, gray slabs on concrete erected everywhere, it would be bleaker. Music would be nothing but metronomes.

Daily reminder that most STEM scientists and engineers are cool and interesting and love art and shit, but the techbros and the people working for Raytheon and shit, those are the scourge of the earth. Anyways, all in all a pretty 12-years-oldish comment.
Like, every STEM dude I know has an interest in sociology or some kind of art or are leftists, or all of the above. Zero smugness.
But those are, by definition, arenβt STEMlords. STEMlords are those that assert the superiority of STEM above all else, so any interest in something other than engineering and money makes them regular people.
Ah ok.
Again, all the βhard sciencesβ PhDs I have ever known are cool people.
By buying into the brutalism = oppressive society shit youβre buying into a chud framing of beauty. Join a gang for that, chump. Go wank over an ionic column.
Without giant walls of concrete on buildings, how are you going to provide space for the most proletarian of art forms: graffiti art?
Damn, now I have to wank over an ionic and corinthian column? Give me a break my workload is getting intense here
Forgive me if I donβt like a bunch of white and gray marble. We need some color in here otherwise youβre a boring bugman.
Youβre complaining about capitalism
How else will I get the maximum rate of PROFIT from my CHEAP ELECTRONICS created by CHILDREN in my COLBALT MINE?!
