You can call Jeopardy a lib show, but it was most definitely praxis.

Teaching Americans about things, particularly about other regions of the world and history, is definitely a worthy cause and Jeopardy did a great job of doing it.

Not to mention he seemed like an all around really nice dude who loved what he did. Don’t know what the show is gonna do without him. Maybe Ken Jennings? Possibly the only person who could pick up his mantle

Already been confirmed it’s going to be Ken. Alex himself approved it and said it could be nobody else.

I haven’t seen anything that says it will be Ken Jennings.

tbf the show could sometimes be very euro-centric still, but yeah.

Fair enough, but gamification is a double-edged tool.

Eh. Jeopardy wasn’t P2W or any of that bullshit.

It was a cute way of presenting trivia to a large audience.

I was lucky enough to appear on Jeopardy while he was the host. Unfortunately, you get so little time to interact with him due to both the rapid pace of the filming schedule and the laws whose purpose is to prevent match fixing. He was truly a pleasant man and I will miss his particular hosting quirks.

Any tips for getting on Jeopardy? It’s a bucket list item of mine

Idk. Doing well on the online test is key, but I share Ken’s opinion that you can’t really study for it. It’s trivia: you’re either the kind of person who has picked this stuff up or not.

Once you get past the online test for the in-person test and interview they really just want someone who can be relaxed and personable and speak loud enough for the cameras.

idk, I’ve noticed some repeating patterns on recent watchings, it might give you a slight advantage if you memorize alot of the answers in the last few seasons to try and remember stuff because it’s likely one of them will come up.

Alex Trebek announcing he had pancreatic cancer was comforting for my mom, it made her feel not so alone about dealing with it. Now they’re both gone and this just kinda hurts.

If you want to share some memories of her, I’m sure it would be welcomed here. My moms getting up there but back in the day when me and my friends couldn’t find a ride to a punk show my mom volunteered and ended up going in with us. The young, young crowd loved her more than anyone else at the show. Same thing happened the only time I hosted a backyard party. All the girls ended up hanging out in the living room with my mom talking about high school shit while all the dudes arguing about NBA and getting in slap fights. Really sorry for your loss.

Haha that’s awesome. Your mom’s a cool lady and you should cherish her forever.

My mom just helped me out so much in the last year of her life. My long time girlfriend broke up with me and I had to move back home after being with her for 7 years. I was crushed and all my joy was sucked out of me, and my mom was there to take me in and help me get back on my feet. She was my biggest supporter and the last person on this Earth that truly understood me. She would drive up to help jump my car when my battery died, she always stocked up on my favorite cereal and bagels even though I told her she didn’t have to feed me. She put so much effort into decorating the house for Christmas because she knew it would be her last one. She was so amazing, and I’ve felt terribly alone since she’s gone.
