If he were smart, he could entirely grift off this and make a fuck ton of money. He could become a conspiracy theorist like Alex Jones with a big media empire behind him, and reveal little details here and there while making people spend money to a subscription and also feed his base with the usual outrage porn about liberals, degenerates or whatever it is that the evangelicals are currently mad about.
But it’s Trump, and he’s more concerned with his ego than anything else, so he’ll pass on this opportunity entirely and cause he’s too stupid to do anything like that.
QAnon is wild. I have an uncle who was on the edge of sovcit territory when I was growing up. He taught me how to use a gun and drive before I was 10 lmao. I’m not gonna lie – I thought he was so cool when I was young. But when I got older it became more and more apparent that he had a lot of mental health issues (and was super racist). Funny enough, trying to push back against some of his conspiracy theories when I was old enough to understand what they meant was what led me towards leftism. But QAnon? It has completely taken him over. I told him that I thought the movement was misguided and not based in reality. He told me that he hated me for my complicity. So. I’m not giving up on talking to him about it (because there is literally no one else who will) but goddamn does it suck.

Thought it was already pretty common knowledge that the Bush admin supposedly just outright ignored evidence of an imminent attack. Whether that’s genuine or just standard cover your ass is a different story (I still believe it was genuine knowledge that was ignored so that consent for massive wars could be manufactured).
That said, Trump outright spewing this would be hilarious.

Trump’s racing around to various cabinet secretaries and threatening to fire them if they don’t help him do a coup. He already canned Mark Esper and he’s currently breathing down Haspel’s neck.
I don’t know if he’s going to have the presence of mind to pardon anyone. That job will be left to the incoming Biden administration.
