How many times do people have to do this song and dance? There’s a point where opening a history book should be enough. Honestly if Americans have to keep on failing to get radicalized then that’s a failure on American leftists.
Class consiousness isnt something that you can just bring about by telling people about capitalism. They have to observe the system itself and its contradictions and limits. There is nothing more radicalising than seeing marxist theory confirmed in real life. From her tweets, it appears AOC is running up against the limits of what bourgeois democracy can do, and thus this can be a radicalising moment for her if she lets it.
