“Oh, shit, the price of beef shot up and we have to put some sort of filler in all the patties we sell? Hmmmm I wonder if we can promote that as a good thing that’ll make people pay even more than they would if it was just beef”
That’s the same logic as going into a store to buy things you don’t need because there’s a sale
motherfucker you’re not spending 50% less, you’re spending 100% more
Eh, if everyone who eats beef patties now switched to this 50/50 thing that would dramatically lower beef consumption, which would be inarguably, enormously good. It’d be foolish to give up a gain that big on the grounds that it could be even bigger.
Compromise? Veganism was the compromise. The real antithesis is to eat non-vegans.
