I decided I’m going to run for a city council position as a socialist. My local DSA has been very successful getting people elected on all levels of government and I intend to be very clearly not just a demsoc to
- improve material conditions for my constituents

- inspire the fucking left like they just did for me.

I know it’s a long shot and I’m still relatively young but I’m going to do it no matter how many times I fail.

This country is just incredible at sucking out every fucking dollar from vulnerable people. I posted here yesterday about my friend’s father passing away from Covid, so I flew down to help her and manage some stuff for her while she grieves. My god everything is designed to rob you with all the vultures standing over your dead fucking body. The hospital, insurance stuff, funeral expenses, home owners association, even other family members. Everyone is just waiting in line to harass a grieving person and steal their money
