Lots of places are dog-hostile, so this at least means you can do errands on your walk without taking the dog inside. The alternative is you drive instead and leave the dog in the car.

You’re not alone in having that reaction. Just tying the dog up outside is super fucking normal in the UK and I’ve never heard of anyone ever losing a dog this way.

Homeless people, former prisoners and drug addicts (including former ones, cause as we’re always told, “you’re always an addict”) - 3 types of people that are constantly dehumanized in the US, with a long history of it from both political parties.
