what about all the “totally not spies” who die? do they go on the wall? like all the “guerrillas” the CIA airdropped in Poland, North Korea, Russia, and China?
C.I.A. Officer Is Killed in Somalia
The officer’s combat death came as President Trump considers pulling back on American operations in the region.
NYT loves war this much. “We sent a guy there. He ded… Will that be for nothing, you peacenik pieces of shit?? You like Trump, huh? …”
The story is bereft of any details or any desire to know more. What’s the CIA doing three? Fighting al Shabab. What does al Shabab want? What do Somalis want? What’s at stake? Is there any history, strategy, signs of beginnings, changes, ends? The only thing there is subtle whining that the world’s a dangerous place and pulling out would limit options somehow.
the circumstances of the killing were ambiguous. It was unclear whether the officer was killed in a counterterrorism raid or was the victim of an enemy attack
the two options, killed by terrorists or a senseless enemy attack
The C.I.A. declined to comment.
for reasons of national security I’m sure, definitely not moral “ambiguity”
That last paragraph…
Many [CIA agents] were killed in Afghanistan, where over all at least 20 people have died since the beginning of the war there.
at least 20 people have died
20 people
