The best of the movies, tho. A fun, whimsical basically self contained movie. 2 and 3 are ok. The second half is garbage. Too serious for very little payoff

The first one is actually my favorite because it’s so simple. Harry Potter was at it’s best when it was a whimsical children’s story. The later books are shitty fantasy about angsty teenagers.

There’s a pretty good satire on the English middle class happening in these opening chapters though. Nothing special, but some of the best writing of the entire series.
