If you want to make sure you’re not losing any audience, the only way to do it is essentially saying nothing at all, which Obama perfected. Problem is that this doesn’t win any audience either.

Serious Mandela Effect here. I’d always known the quote as “Power accedes nothing without demand,” but now searching for that in Google shows almost no results. A newspaper article from 1983, a book from 2014, and an old meme. That’s it.
